Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about GetTerrain's AI competitive intelligence platform.
What is GetTerrain?
GetTerrain is an AI-powered competitive intelligence platform built for SaaS founders. It automatically discovers competitors in your market — including products with no SEO presence — scores them by threat level, and produces strategic recommendations you can act on. Unlike static research reports, GetTerrain also runs ongoing monitoring so your competitive picture stays current as the market moves.
How does GetTerrain find competitors I don't know about?
GetTerrain uses a 5-stage AI pipeline that combines traditional web discovery with neural search across vector indexes. The Discovery stage surfaces competitors that keyword-based tools miss: stealth products, community-led launches, and outbound-only SaaS companies with little or no organic footprint. Each competitor is profiled for pricing, positioning, funding, and threat level before reaching your report.
What is the difference between a competitive analysis and competitor monitoring?
A competitive analysis is a point-in-time snapshot of your market — useful for planning, but it goes stale quickly. Competitor monitoring runs on a schedule (weekly by default) and alerts you when something changes: a new entrant appears, a rival pivots pricing, or a competitor raises funding. GetTerrain supports both: run an analysis when you need depth, and enable monitoring so you never miss a shift.
How often does GetTerrain scan for new competitors?
Monitoring jobs run on a weekly schedule by default. Each scan re-runs the full discovery and profiling pipeline for your product, compares results against previous runs, and emails you when new competitors are found or existing ones change significantly. Pro and Agency plans include weekly monitoring across multiple products.
What is a neural search and why does it find competitors that SEMrush misses?
Neural search uses vector embeddings to match products by meaning and positioning, not just keywords and backlinks. A competitor with no blog, no SEO footprint, and no indexed pages can still be surfaced if its product description, feature set, and target audience overlap with yours. Traditional SEO tools only see what ranks in search engines — neural search sees what exists in the market.
How much does GetTerrain cost?
GetTerrain offers three plans: Solo at £39/month (1 app tracked), Pro at £69/month (up to 5 apps, weekly monitoring), and Agency at £199/month (unlimited apps, white-label reporting). Annual billing saves two months. See full details on the pricing page at getterrain.io/pricing.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Paid plans include a 7-day free trial. You can also run a free competitor report on the demo page with no signup or credit card required — it shows you a full sample report generated by GetTerrain's 5-stage AI pipeline so you can evaluate the product before committing.
What is the 5-stage AI pipeline?
GetTerrain's pipeline has five stages: Interpreter (parses your product description and defines your market), Discovery (finds competitors via web and neural search), Profiler (builds detailed profiles — pricing, features, funding), Analyst (scores threat levels), and Strategist (generates your summary, recommendations, and watch list). Each stage completes automatically; you receive a finished report without manual research.
What does the Strategist stage produce?
The Strategist stage synthesises everything from the prior stages into actionable output: a strategic summary of your competitive landscape, your biggest threat, market whitespace, positioning advice, ranked recommendations, and a watch list of competitors to monitor closely. This is the section most founders use for product and go-to-market decisions.
Can I use GetTerrain for multiple products?
Yes. The Solo plan tracks 1 app, Pro tracks up to 5 apps, and Agency supports unlimited apps. Each product gets its own competitive landscape, reports, and optional monitoring job. Portfolio founders can manage TaskFlow, FormCraft, and PulseDesk-style products from a single dashboard.
What is the Agency plan best for?
The Agency plan is designed for consultants, accelerators, and operators managing competitive intelligence across many client or portfolio products. It includes unlimited app tracking, white-label PDF export, API access, and priority support. If you run competitive analysis as a service or manage more than five products, Agency is the right fit.
Does GetTerrain integrate with other tools?
Pro and Agency plans include REST API access so you can pull competitor data and report results into your own dashboards, Notion workspaces, or internal tools. GetTerrain also pairs with Portco, our revenue dashboard for portfolio founders, so you can connect competitive shifts to MRR impact. Webhook delivery for completed reports is supported on all paid plans.
What is Portco and how does it relate to GetTerrain?
Portco is a revenue dashboard built for portfolio founders who run multiple SaaS products. GetTerrain watches your competitive landscape; Portco watches your revenue. Together they give you a complete picture of external threats and internal performance. Portco connects from your GetTerrain dashboard at no extra charge on eligible plans.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime from your account settings or by emailing hello@getterrain.io. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access until then. There are no cancellation fees or long-term contracts on any GetTerrain plan.
Who is GetTerrain built for?
GetTerrain is built for solo founders, indie hackers, and small SaaS teams who need serious competitive intelligence without enterprise pricing or a dedicated analyst. If you ship products, care about positioning, and cannot afford to be surprised by a new competitor, GetTerrain is your competitive radar. It is not designed for large enterprise CI teams — tools like Klue and Crayon serve that market.
